Connect a custom domain

What a custom domain is, where moime stands on it today, and what to do if you already own one.

A custom domain is a name like yourname.com that opens your page, instead of moime.app/your-name.

Where this stands

Showing a page on your own domain is not available in the beta. Your pages live at moime.app/your-name, and that link keeps working. Nothing you do now needs a domain.

What it will be

  • A domain you buy through moime is registered in your name, through our registrar partner Name.com. It is yours, and you can move it to another company.
  • You can also use a domain you bought somewhere else.
  • Custom domains are part of the Pro plan. See Pro plan, billing and refunds.
  • Prices, renewals and refunds for domains will be shown before you buy. The terms say the same.

If you already own a domain

When domains open, Your own domain appears in Profile, with Already have a domain? Connect it. It shows two DNS records to add where you bought the domain: an A record for the domain itself and a CNAME record for www. In the guide, the name @ means the domain itself, other A records for it should be removed first, and changes can take up to 48 hours to reach everyone.

Until then, do not change your domain's DNS for moime. Moving it early only breaks whatever it points to now.

Still stuck?

Email hello@moime.app. One person runs moime, so it may take a day or two to answer.
